Il progetto editoriale ha lo scopo di raccogliere contributi scientifici originali che mettano in luce le specificità della didattica e dell’acquisizione della lingua cinese in Italia, specificità legate sia al tipo di apprendenti, sia al contesto economico, sociale, politico e normativo.
Il volume sarà in lingua italiana e sarà sottoposto a revisione cieca. Il comitato scientifico che si occuperà della revisione delle proposte e dei contributi sarà composto di esperti internazionali. Le scadenze previste sono le seguenti: – 15/12/2020: invio degli abstract (APA style, 300 parole circa, riferimenti bibliografici inclusi); – 15/1/2021: notifica di approvazione degli abstract; – 15/3/2021: invio dei contributi (formato e lunghezza da definire con l’editore). Si accettano proposte di volumi monografici per i numeri del 2021-2022 entro il 15 dicembre.
Le proposte dovranno illustrare il tema da trattare e la sua importanza, nonché il filo conduttore tra gli articoli e la rispondenza con gli obiettivi della rivista. Dovranno inoltre contenere un indice completo di autori e titoli (6 o 7, si vedano le norme editoriali), e un breve abstract per ogni articolo. Si darà priorità a proposte che affrontino I seguenti temi: MTC medicina e salute, arti figurative o architettura, scambi scientifici e tecnologici nella prima età moderna o nei secc. XIX e XX). Entro un mese si invierà notifica di accettazione e si fornirà la scadenza per l’invio dei saggi. Eventuali altre proposte verranno prese in considerazione per numeri di anni successivi.

University Lectureship in Chinese Language and Linguistics, Cambridge
The Department of East Asian Studies seeks to appoint a University Lecturer in Chinese Language and Linguistics. We welcome applicants trained in Chinese linguistics who also have knowledge of, and experience in, language teaching, testing, syllabus design, the development of teaching materials, and language pedagogy. The ability to conduct linguistic and empirical research in L2 Chinese bilingualism/multilingualism is highly desirable. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Chinese language and linguistics or a related discipline and will have a record of, or clear potential for, outstanding research. She or he will be expected to direct the modern Chinese language program; engage in high-level research; develop impact programmes outside academia; publish in their specialist field and seek opportunities to obtain external funding for that research; offer teaching and supervision on one or more of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department of East Asian Studies; contribute to the growth of their specialist field and China Studies more generally; assist with running the Department’s various programmes, including the organization of seminars, conferences, year abroad, and outreach activities as well as shouldering appropriate administrative duties. The successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment on 1 September 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter.

PhD program East Asian Studies, Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS), Freie Universität Berlin
Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS) is inviting applications again for the PhD program East Asian Studies at Freie Universität Berlin starting October 2021.
GEAS offers a social science-based, structured 3-year PhD program with a regional focus on East Asia (China, Japan, Korea). Doctoral dissertations at GEAS are expected to analyze the institutional environment of social, political, cultural and economic actors in the East Asian region. All dissertation research at GEAS will be conducted in the context of the three interconnected research lenses of its academic profile:1. the origin and change of institutions in East Asia, 2. the effects institutions have on processes, related to globalization and modernization in East Asia on the side of governments, bureaucracies, businesses, individual life-styles, etc., 3. the interdependencies of institutions in East Asia within and beyond its regional boundaries.

Assistant Professor of Pre-modern East Asian Cultural Studies, University of Toronto
The Department of East Asian Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Pre-modern East Asian cultural studies, with a focus on China, including the late imperial period. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2021, or shortly thereafter.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in East Asian Studies or a related discipline by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance existing departmental strengths. We are especially interested in applicants whose work addresses wider Asian and/or global contexts. All applicants must be able to frame their work in terms of broader theoretical questions. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence. This can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided in the candidate’s teaching dossier submitted as part of the application. The dossier must include a teaching statement, sample course materials, teaching evaluations, and other indicators of teaching accomplishment. Strong letters of reference that address the applicant’s teaching abilities are also expected.
Candidates are also expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment demonstrated through the application materials.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Call for Papers: On Qing (情) and Jing (境) in Chinese Literature: A Discourse on Ecocriticism
We are seeking contributions to an edited volume focusing on the concepts of qing (情) and jing (境) throughout Chinese literature, with a special emphasis on modern and contemporary Chinese literature, by examining the environmental and ecological dimensions of such notions.

We are seeking contributions to an edited volume focusing on the plurality of Media Interpreting (MI) studies from a global perspective over the last decade. This volume sets out to explore the most recent studies on MI from authoritative voices around the world.
