Inclusive Perspectives on Care: Mediation, Narrative Medicine, and Assistive Robotics

5 Novembre 2025 ore 9:306 Novembre 2025 ore 14:00

On 5–6 November 2025, the University of Foreigners of Siena will host the Study Days “Inclusive Perspectives on Care: Mediation, Narrative Medicine, and Assistive Robotics”, featuring research presentations on Sino-Italian interpreting in healthcare service (Laura Gavioli – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; Sabrina Ardizzoni and Andrea Scibetta – University for Foreigners of Siena), as well as studies and practices on assistive robotics in China and other Asian countries, including reflections on their ethical implications (Prof. Cong Yali, Beijing University – online; Prof. Anna Di Toro, University for Foreigners of Siena).

The two-day event, officially recognized by the Siena University Hospital (AOUS) as a training opportunity for linguistic and cultural mediators and healthcare professionals, aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among healthcare practitioners, mediators, and researchers in translinguistic and transcultural studies. Through this exchange, the initiative seeks to explore how shared synergies can contribute to developing more inclusive forms of care and society.

Participation is free of charge. Upon request (e-mail: giornatastudispoke3@unistrasi.it) participants will receive a certificate of attendance, with attendance recorded on-site via QR code.

The event is organized by the University for Foreigners of Siena (Unistrasi) and co-funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU under the Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE) project, Spokes 3/3-4 and 5 (scientific coordinators: Prof. Anna Di Toro and Prof. Sabrina Machetti), with the patronage of the Siena University Hospital (AOUS).
