The conference aims to highlight a series of phenomena of possible contact, influence or hybridisation relating to historical, literary, artistic, linguistic and cultural aspects in the Eurasian space between the Hellenistic Greek ecumene (present in particular in the territories of Central Asia, whose offshoots extended as far as the Tarim Basin) and the Chinese world, in the period between the death of Alexander the Great and the early centuries of the Common Era. In addition to the theme of contacts (direct or indirect), the conference will also focus on the theme of comparisons between classical Chinese and Greek cultures, through some presentations by speakers on comparative topics.

During the Conference, the new monographic issue of the International Journal Sulla Via del Catai, China and Greece. Ancient Ecumenisms in the Mirror: The Reflection of the Other, edited by Francesca Fariello and Maurizio Paolillo, will be presented.
