SUMMARY:Inclusive Perspectives on Care: Mediation\, Narrative Medicine\, and Assistive Robotics
DESCRIPTION:On 5–6 November 2025\, the University of Foreigners of Siena will host the Study Days “Inclusive Perspectives on Care: Mediation\, Narrative Medicine\, and Assistive Robotics”\, featuring research presentations on Sino-Italian interpreting in healthcare service (Laura Gavioli – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; Sabrina Ardizzoni and Andrea Scibetta – University for Foreigners of Siena)\, as well as studies and practices on assistive robotics in China and other Asian countries\, including reflections on their ethical implications (Prof. Cong Yali\, Beijing University – online; Prof. Anna Di Toro\, University for Foreigners of Siena). \nThe two-day event\, officially recognized by the Siena University Hospital (AOUS) as a training opportunity for linguistic and cultural mediators and healthcare professionals\, aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among healthcare practitioners\, mediators\, and researchers in translinguistic and transcultural studies. Through this exchange\, the initiative seeks to explore how shared synergies can contribute to developing more inclusive forms of care and society. \nParticipation is free of charge. Upon request (e-mail: giornatastudispoke3@unistrasi.it) participants will receive a certificate of attendance\, with attendance recorded on-site via QR code. \nThe event is organized by the University for Foreigners of Siena (Unistrasi) and co-funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU under the Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE) project\, Spokes 3/3-4 and 5 (scientific coordinators: Prof. Anna Di Toro and Prof. Sabrina Machetti)\, with the patronage of the Siena University Hospital (AOUS).

In addition to the theme of contacts (direct or indirect)\, the conference will also focus on the theme of comparisons between classical Chinese and Greek cultures\, through some presentations by speakers on comparative topics. \nDuring the Conference\, the new monographic issue of the International Journal Sulla Via del Catai\, China and Greece. Ancient Ecumenisms in the Mirror: The Reflection of the Other\, edited by Francesca Fariello and Maurizio Paolillo\, will be presented.
