EACT welcomes colleagues concerned with the learning and teaching of Chinese from all over the world to join us in-person to exchange ideas and research outcomes. The webpage for the conference will soon be available. This is the 2nd Call for Papers with updates and extra information in red\, mainly concerning: deadline extension\, announcement of keynote speakers and of a special plenary session in honour of prof. Lü Bisong\, updated committee. \nThe Symposium is organized by the EACT in conjunction with “L’Orientale” University of Naples and its Confucius Institute. The theme of the Symposium is “Challenges and Opportunities for Chinese Language Teaching in a Rapidly Evolving European Society: new standards\, multilingual environments and emerging technologies”. This 5th International Symposium will focus on exploring the challenges and opportunities Chinese language education faces today\, together with the future trends\, based upon the past and particularly recent developments in schools and in higher education institutions in Europe and elsewhere. Special attention will be given to: \n\nThe development of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language as an academic discipline\nEBCL 2 (European Benchmarks for the Chinese language 2) project\, which is drafting the descriptors for levels B1-C1 for European competences of Chinese language;\nTheories\, practices and new tools for teaching Chinese taking into consideration the learners’ L1 and cultural specificities;\nChinese language teaching through AI\, apps\, platforms\, programs\, websites\, etc.\n\nAs 2025 is the 90th birthday of Prof. LÜ Bisong (吕必松)\, one of the founders of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language as an academic discipline\, a special plenary session will be held at this symposium in his honour. During the symposium\, the EACT will also hold its General Assembly.  All the members are welcome to attend. \n  \nDATE\, VENUE AND WORKING LANGUAGES \n2nd to the 4th of July 2025 at “L’Orientale” University of Naples\, Italy. The abstract can be in either Chinese or English\, approximately 300 words in Chinese or about 400 words in English.\nEach person can submit only one abstract as an independent or first author. It is possible to submit one other abstract as a co-author.\n3. Abstracts should be submitted via the following link\, please fill in all the required information: abstract submission.\n\nPlease note that no other means of submissions will be accepted for this symposium. \n\nInformation on registration and payment will follow after abstract acceptance confirmation.\n\n  \nIMPORTANT DATES \nNEW Deadline for abstract submission: 30th January 2024 \nNEW Notification date of paper acceptance (by email): by 30th March\, 2025 \nDeadline for paper presenters to confirm participation and register online: 30th April\, 2025 \nThe Symposium has an academic/scientific committee responsible for the organization of blind peer review of all the submitted abstracts. SUMMARY:V Simposio Internazionale dell’Associazione Europea per la Didattica del Cinese
DESCRIPTION:Il V Simposio Internazionale dell’Associazione Europea per la Didattica del Cinese (European Association of Chinese Teaching)\, in occasione del X Anniversario dell’EACT\, si terrà dal 2 al 4 luglio 2025 presso l’Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”.\nIl titolo del convegno è:\n“Sfide e opportunità per la didattica della lingua cinese in una società europea in rapida evoluzione: nuovi standard\, ambienti multilingue e tecnologie emergenti”. L’evento ha ottenuto il sostegno del CLEC\, dell’Istituto Confucio\, del Dipartimento Asia\, Africa e Mediterraneo e del Centro Studi sull’Asia Orientale dell’Università di Napoli “L’Orientale”.\nOltre 200 studiosi da tutto il mondo si riuniranno a Napoli per presentare i loro più recenti progetti di ricerca. Particolare attenzione sarà dedicata a:\n1. Lo sviluppo dell’insegnamento del cinese come lingua straniera come disciplina accademica\n2. Il progetto EBCL 2 (European Benchmarks for the Chinese Language 2)\, che sta redigendo i descrittori per i livelli B1-C1 delle competenze europee in lingua cinese;\n3. Teorie\, pratiche e nuovi strumenti per l’insegnamento del cinese\, tenendo conto della L1 e delle specificità culturali degli apprendenti;\n4.
